Goddard Veterinary Group Enfield

Since moving to Enfield, we also had to opt for a veterinary clinic nearby so we opted for Goddard. It’s been nearly two years since joining and every vet up until Friday’s visit has been fine. On Friday my mum took our 6 year old cat to as she was throwing up (blood streaks) and was refusing to eat. From my understanding the vet in charge was scared of our cat? She can have an attitude but can generally be held, and specifically a vet to be standing back and being instructed by her junior to administer an injection… sheer incompetence. Furthermore, the vet insisted on explaining how expensive the hospital may be, and kept diverting the conversation to monetary matters. If we didnt have the money to treat our cat, we have pet insurance… she then proceeds to ask us if the pet insurance is good and if theyll even cover it…. To then proceed to advocate for another insurance policy… just seemed the most unethical vet we have ever encountered. Our cats are covered by great policies, we have had cats for over 20 years and we are aware of all the monetary repercussions of having treatment out of hours but the lack of empathy from the vet… just horrible. We wont be back and will advocate for local cat owners to take their pets where a VET can actually hold them and care for them BESIDES the money.

I actually care about my cat and will not be bringing them back to this branch again. Lack of organisation from the staff and the vet who tended to my animal seemed out of it. Was like I was speaking to a brick wall. I don’t know her name. I appreciate that it can get busy but I am paying for my animals care I don’t want to be seeing a vet who’s had enough for the day which she even said it’s been a difficult day. Which I appreciate but I do not expect my cat to get less care now because of it. Considering how much money the vet makes aswell everything looks dirty. My cat was wrapped inside a towel that looked so dirty. No basic checks were done like a check of her heartbeat a look into her ears and teeth just a general look. Instead they stressed my cat first who is already is anxious of the vets which they have in there notes and then said she was stressed we can’t check her now. Surely you would check these things before you decide to shave an anxious cats bum. The previous times I have been these general quick look at my cat was always done no matter what the issue. But we was told sorry one thing to be seen to and you need to leave. My cat has no issues with her ears nose so I wasn’t giving her a list of problems. My cat hadn’t been seen in a year and we took her for a check up and we were concerned about something on her bottom area. My cat isn’t flighty unless intrusively handled. Completely unorganised. Anyone going to the vets must care about their animal. My advice avoid this branch.👎

Had a recent visit and it was an excellent experience especially with the receptionist rebeka.

Great experience. I got a same-day appointment for my cat and the staff were very kind and professional. They really took good care of her and made sure she was comfortable. Much better experience than I’ve had at Pets at Home. Highly recommend.

It suffers from a string of different vets, some are better than others. Also my nose was put a little out of joint when randomly, on the most recent visit only, they refused to let me in without a mask. Clearly they know more about animals than the latest science on Covid. ==================== Got stupidly expensive in the last 12 months. When I queried it, I was told that "they've got very strict".

Have to say this has been the best vets I have been to in Enfield. The staff are so lovely, and have helped on the spot when I’ve had a concern. They seem genuinely interested in the animals welfare.
