My cat absolutely adores coming here and purrs as soon he sees the vet

The worst veterinary experience I’ve ever had I’ve been to Village Vet twice — and both visits were an absolute nightmare. The first time I went, there were two nurses and two doctors, yet none of them managed to examine my cat. Their excuse? That my cat was “too aggressive.” I’ve had vets deal with much more difficult animals before — real professionals know how to handle that. But clearly, this clinic has no idea what they’re doing. And to make it worse, they charged me £80 for that so-called “consultation”, even though they didn’t do anything! I was shocked. I decided to give them another chance — big mistake. This time, I only wanted to drop off a stool sample for lab testing, since my cat is already under treatment. I just needed to check whether the bacteria he was treated for were still present. But the receptionist refused to accept the sample, saying it was “impossible” without a full examination of the cat. Completely absurd. I knew exactly what I needed, yet they wouldn’t help at all. This place is a joke. They waste your time, take your money, and show zero understanding of animals or their owners. Stay far, far away from Village Vet. They are unprofessional, unhelpful, and only seem interested in charging people for nothing. If you care about your pet, go anywhere else.

Friendly and accommodating staff! Our vet was knowledgeable and kind, and made a real effort to explain everything to us in clear terms. Thank you!

I felt extremely let down by these vets and nurses. I had been feeding a stray cat for a prolonged period of time - he always appeared to be in a healthy condition and he also enjoyed being outside. Due to us having 3 cats of our own who were fearful of him - we were unable to take him on as our own. We had then began to notice that he wasn’t eating properly and that was very unusual for him. He then began to appear to be very poorly and so I was recommended this vet by a local lady who tries to help all stray cats within my local area. They gave me an appointment straight away so I felt extremely optimistic, however when I got there and he had been seen, they told me that he wasn’t microchipped. That then lead on to the nurse telling me to just release him in a park or a patch of grass. I was absolutely horrified. This cat was clearly unwell and they refused to keep him in and treat him. I released him into my garden and he left and I have not seen him since. It’s been many weeks now and the fact he had not eaten or drunk for days - I assume he has now passed away, which ultimately could have been prevented. Vets are supposed to be animal lovers as a lot of us are yet only seem to now be driven by money. It’s such a shame to see how the world is changing. I shall never go back to that vets - shame on them.

I've been going to Village Vet since I moved to Winchmore Hill in 2017 with my cat and am happy with the service I get. It is very near my home and there's always enough parking on the premises. The vets are all friendly and helpful. The only drawback to pet-owning is the cost! I'm sure all vets are more or less the same though.

I have been registering my cats at the Winchmore Hill branch for many years. Excellent service. Clean, polite, punctual and professional. Extremely helpful advising and helping with any insurance claims admin. The vets are second to none and the reception staff always smiling and happy to see you.

Worst vet you could possibly find, stay far, far away. First time I am actually leaving a review about anything, but I feel that I need to warn others. Cancelled a critically important appointment for my two dogs without any notice, tried to tell me that I was contacted several times which is completely false. Could not accommodate me for a new appointment for another two weeks to rectify their own mistake. No effort was made to find a solution. I will take this all the way to the most senior level within their organisation. Sheer audacity, quite unbelievable.

Would not recommend, Overpriced, do not allow you to go into the room with your pet, poor information given in a way that scares the owner . Inexperienced staff. They were too quick to recommend sedating my dog for further investigation on her foot at the cost of £1000. I went somewhere else for a second opinion and the vet managed to discover the problem without sedation, without separation from me and it cost me much less for a consultation. This company is all about how much money they can make - Do not use it , there are other independent vets that you and your pet can have an individualised professional service
